Between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, I took a winter break in Miyazaki and Fukuoka—my partner’s hometown and my own.
The journey back to Saitama began at 8:00 a.m. on 2 January, driving through snow-covered motorways. It was a punishing yet memorable drive: 17 hours and 1,300 kilometres of pure endurance.

When I finally arrived home, exhausted but satisfied, I found an absentee delivery notice waiting in the post. I immediately arranged for redelivery.
What arrived was something truly special: a small parcel containing a Caterham JPE, a 1/43 scale 3D-printed model by Lake Front Models.
For someone who loves Caterhams, cars in general, and finely crafted models, this was nothing short of extraordinary—an utterly perfect New Year’s present that reignited the same excitement I felt the first time I fell in love with lightweight British sports cars.
